I read it over a few days.It reminded me of another book I read not too long ago called The Known World, also about slavery, freedmen, slave stealers and dealers. It was an interesting aspect that Song Yet Sung took place on the Eastern Shore (I noticed he did not capitalize this place name, as we do)and the story is truly absorbing and the characters rich and real.
