The Senator mentioned in the post stated that he did NOT want the gays to "consume" tax payer money by having the same benefits of straight people. Right now, married, committed, gay couples do not have equal benefits as straight married people.Mindie Burgoynehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14936334677882898071noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38582487.post-15205318629001465232011-08-31T04:54:00.648-04:002011-08-31T04:54:00.648-04:00That's a side of gay marriage that is invisibl...That's a side of gay marriage that is invisible for most of us...the financial issue. Your friend is right, they should pay the same taxes as we do because if gay people want to be equal with straight ones, they should follow the same rules. I will post this on the top rated gay sites and see their opinion:)kevinnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38582487.post-55827015273593064102011-08-21T22:11:09.947-04:002011-08-21T22:11:09.947-04:00As a friend and mother figure to several young gay...As a friend and mother figure to several young gay adults , I am furious at such comments and behavior. This just solidifies my views on the MORONS we have in office! It isn't about what's good for our country, it's about their wallets, and what they can do to keep them fat!!
I could just spit!!Roberta wardnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38582487.post-58046292557127040052011-08-21T15:39:53.467-04:002011-08-21T15:39:53.467-04:00Well done, Mindie. My wife gently pointed out that now that it's illegal to kill or openly discriminate against them, homosexuals are less likely to just marry someone of the opposite sex or remain ambiguously single.
For me, it's a humbling situation. I always stood in awe when reading about my country's history of behaving abominably toward minorities in general. I was always a little smug about how much more enlightened I was than the people of the 1940s and 1950s. The worst thing about this stupid, stupid fight is I won't have the opportunity to travel to the future and tell some other smug guy that we weren't all small-minded idiots at the beginning of the 21st Century.Tony Russohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07822397944969480894noreply@blogger.com
